- Info
Juunior is a sans-serif that pairs intentionally stretched curves moving with youthful speed, while its contrasted strokes carry the timeless charm of American Gothics like Franklin – a typographic equivalent of a child in an old person’s body, seeking a symbiosis between naïve spirit and sage wisdom.
Juunior’s curves refuse to play by the rules. The bowls of B, P, and R could be called “oval” by some or “parabolic” by others, but either way, they steer clear of geometric circles and follow a more intuitive, arched path. Meanwhile, characters like C, G, O, and S add a grounded, egg-like weight to the mix, keeping things delightfully unpredictable.
Despite its perfectly average x-height, Juunior is packed with personality. It comes in six weights with matching italics and features 10 sets of stylistic alternates, offering a wardrobe of options for any occasion: “Schoolbook” a and u to ace the test; arched A, M, m, W, and w for a costume party; or a “Senior” a and & for a cozy afternoon at grandparents’ house. Juunior also includes a range of OpenType features – like tabular numbers, useful for counting down the days until your next birthday.
